For five years, it has been a tradition for me to make garlic cheese dip as a special Superbowl Sunday splurge, and this year is no different. This dip is so easy it practically makes itself. All you need are a few simple ingredients, half an hour of time, and very little respect for your arteries.
Here’s what to put on your grocery list:
1LB of Velveeta
1 LB of Butter
2 Cans of Mushroom and Garlic Soup
Cube the Velveeta. This will decrease melting time.
Throw the Velveeta cubes in a pot along with the butter and soup. With the heat set to medium-low, stir the ingredients together. It will look like a hot mess. That’s ok.
Now the hot mess is fine to just melt and chill. So you might have time for some Netflix and chill. Or you can just slice your baguette. Whatever you do, stir the dip every once in a while.
As you can see….I decided to just slice.
It will take approximately half an hour for the dip to reach the desired consistency.
When you’re done, you can transfer the pot contents to a slow cooker or eat the dip directly from the pot on the stove. No judgement either way. The only thing judging your decision is your New Year’s resolution, which you can effectively bid adieu after consuming this dip.
Now settle in and enjoy some great music and memorable commercials.
I mean football!
